About Dr. Wilhelm Heinrich Schüssler

He was born Aug. 21, 1821, in Bad Zwischenahn in the Grand Duchy of Oldenburg, and on March 30, 1898, he died in Oldenburg, where he lived and worked for 40 years of his life. He came from a poor family and was not able to study until he was 30 years old. Schüssler studied in Paris, Berlin, Giessen and Prague and received his doctorate in Giessen in medicine.

At first Dr. Schüssler worked as a homeopath for 15 years, but soon he was dissatisfied with this. He sought a simple method of healing and to this end began to thoroughly investigate disturbances, which we call diseases. Because of the findings of Dr. Virchow, the discoverer of the cells of the human body and by the Dutchman Jacob Moleschott, who was concerned with the biochemical processes in the cell of the human body, Dr. Schüssler became fascinated and, on the basis of cell theory, began to investigate the causes of diseases and their treatments.

The discovery of the Schüssler Cell Salts

Gradually he discovered twelve mineral salts, which are very important for the functioning of the human body and find out where these minerals occur in the human body. He came to understand that the health of the cell, and therefore the health of the body, comes from replenishing the losses. He even went further: To prevent damage and to make the cell salts directly absorbable by the cells, they had to be potentized (diluted). The cell salts according to Schüssler contain mineral salts so diluted that they can be directly absorbed by the cell.

This new method of treating Dr. Schüssler quickly found enthusiastic supporters and the number of patients grew very quickly, thousands of patients from all over the world came to Oldenburg and received his help.

Today Dr. Schüssler's biochemistry has lost none of its topicality, in fact it is quite the opposite, the mineral salts according to Dr. Schüssler are becoming more and more popular.
